SET Cleaning on NBC 12
Wow! Today is the first time that SET Cleaning has been interviewed by a TV reporter. This morning, Jennifer Warnick from NBC 12 came to our office in Powhatan to do an interview on us regarding Cleaning for a Reason. Cannot say that we weren’t a little nervous but it actually went really well (maybe I needed to smile a little more). Tomorrow Jennifer will be interviewing Julie Duke, one of three wonderful women we are presently cleaning for through Cleaning for a Reason. Julie is excited to do the interview because she was turned away by Cleaning for a Reason earlier this year because of lack of available cleaning companies in our area. She did call us directly and we volunteered to pick up an additional participant.
Julie and I are trying to get the word out to other cleaning companies in the Richmond area to partner with Cleaning for a Reason. We are looking for companies that are willing to help women battling cancer by sponsoring two or more homes per month for four consecutive months at no charge to the cancer patient. There are so many benefits to doing this. It helps the woman battling cancer come home to a clean house after a day of chemo, radiation or surgery. It allows her to focus on her health and her family and it is a great moral booster for the company. The employees enjoy and look forward to helping these women who are fighting cancer, at least it does for my employees. The phone calls you will receive from the grateful women and/or their family members are priceless.
Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit organization that just celebrated their ten year anniversary last month. Cleaning for a Reason has recruited over 1,200 maid services in the US and Canada to donate free housecleaning to women who are undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. In the past 10 years, they have helped over 23,000 women battling cancer.
Again, for the other cleaning companies out there…please donate some of your time to this great organization by going to www.cleaningforareason.com. I am told that this story should air on NBC 12 sometime toward the end of November. Is this cool, or what? #cleaningforareasonpowhatan
